Fashion forward & aspiring the supplement is a guide to the latest
fashion and beauty trends and what can be found in stores right now and
includes an ecommerce collaboration with trendy design e-tailer, Citymob, for
select featured items.
“The new supplement offers readers an up-to-the-minute overview of current
fashion and beauty styles and trends and advice on how to make the best of
them, but, importantly, it also provides advertisers with a dedicated
environment in which to talk to our audience,” comments Susan Russell,
publisher of the Lifestyle supplements.

The theme for the first edition is ‘the new mod’ highlighting 1960s shapes; black and white graphics and a colour scheme of pale pink, oxblood red, black and white |
Edited by Sarah Buitendach, who has made a name for herself in the lifestyle
media industry as a stylist, writer and editor on a number of publications, the
supplement will have a strong focus on women’s fashion.
“We’re really looking forward to the first edition, the snappy, jigsaw-like
layout, will provide news in a short snippet format with a changing mix of
shopping, new products and quick reads. Q&A with fashion designers and
industry players as well as themed and seasonal fashion edits will give readers
everything they need to know to stay up to date.”
Beyond shopping, breaking news and scoops will be included in a centre
spread known as ‘The Edit’ and will focus on providing readers with an in depth
look at trends as well as new fashion names and ranges. Advice on how to wear
what is currently in stores will be complemented by a fashion product shoot.
Similarly, the beauty section is a highly visual two-page spread covering new
product launches, make-up and skin-care trends. QR codes included in the
articles will link readers to “how to” video clips with instructional steps on
how to ‘get the look’. Glamorous fashion photography in this section will give
an overview of looks and products used.
Remember that when you get your hands on your first copy tomorrow that a special fashion popup shop will be hosted within a
dedicated Sunday Times microsite on Citymob .
