The journey of MaXhosa by Laduma knitwear began in 2010 with a desire to find knitwear design solutions for amakrwala (Xhosa initiates). The main vision of the brand was to create a modern Xhosa-inspired knitwear collection that would be suitable for amakrwala.

As the journey continued he ventured into exploring astonishing traditional Xhosa beadwork craft, colours and patterns in which he discovered that they would be the best inspiration for the knitwear, which was then fused into modern knitwear.

Laduma’s A/W 2014 Collections is strong & penetrating and besieged with heritage and depth thereof. MaXhosa by Laduma raised the bar higher this year at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2014 and I am completely charmed by his works of art.

Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa, has debut his first fashion film titled My Heritage My Inheritance.The film captures and depicts the profound cultural meaning behind the brand.
