With the warmer seasons approaching the turnaround of the
orthopaedic sandal “The Birkenstock” is making a huge fashion comeback with top
designers such as Celine incorporating the shoes into their runway shows.
The most popular styles are the classic double strap or
thong style in any neutral colour you wish. The uber-comfy shoes can be dressed
up or down, depending on the occasion, but casual is definitely the best way to
wear them.
The classic two-strap Birkenstocks work best with the
androgynous/menswear inspired look. They can be worn with a tailored jacket,
boyfriend jeans and a simple T-shirt or if you’re not into the masculine vibe
try it with denim cut-offs and a feminine top add a floppy hat with either look
and it will all come together nicely.
They are a tad pricey ranging from R1250.00 upwards but do
keep in mind that you are paying for comfort – If you’re keen on the trend but
can’t fathom forking out that much cash keep an eye out at MR PRICE STORES as they are
